THEATRE WASHINGTON: @sarah-colatriano
Sarah is a stage manager originally from McLean, Virginia (just outside of Washington DC) and she has a Bachelors Degree in Theatre and Computer Science from the College of William & Mary. Sarah got her start to theater as a scenic carpenter, but in college she took every production opportunity she could in any department that would take her. By graduation, she had show credits in technical direction, scenic design, lighting design, sound mixing, props design, and more. In the fall semester of her sophomore year, Sarah stumbled into stage management and never left.
Sarah brings her wide range of technical knowledge into every show she works on. Backstage, she's a jack-of-all-trades; she has a deep understanding of how each department contributes to the production and how the SM team can help facilitate that collaboration.
Sarah prides herself in the many types of performance she's worked on so early in her career. She has calling experience with musicals/operettas, straight plays, and dance (ballet, modern), and also backstage experience in pop music concerts and opera. Her favorite type of show to work on is anything with a lot of technical elements (which usually end up being musicals); she likes the logic puzzles they pose and the creative solutions they lead to.
When she's not in the theater, Sarah enjoys crocheting sweaters, playing video games (currently: Cult of the Lamb), tending to her plants, and playing guitar.
